With knowledge and skills borrowed from his background as an actor and director, fueled by a twice daily mantra meditation practice and inspired by a love and extensive study of philosophy, psychology and mythology,...

John is no ordinary DJ...

His infatuation with the magic of music was first aroused through radio pop music of the early 70's which lead his eager ears to early influences such as THE BEATLES, SEX PISTOLS, THE CLASH, CRASS, THE DAMNED and ADAM AND THE ANTS, along with a passion for Musicals and Film Soundtracks, with 'CHITTY-CHITTY BANG-BANG' and Jeff Wayne's 'WAR OF THE WORLDS' making a strong early impression.

By his early teens, John had developed firm roots as a musical performer as the drummer and songwriter for various underground punk bands. Then, whilst training as an actor and stage director in LONDON in the early 90's, with the ACID HOUSE revolution exploding all around, he developed a passion for the spiritual enhancing potential of dance music and a love and respect for the vibrant community and culture surrounding it.

On graduating, this inspired him to develop, direct, produce and perform in the critically acclaimed, award winning stage show 'BEYOND ECSTASY'. Through this, John was introduced to D.J. Legend, PAUL OAKENFOLD. They became friends and swapped skills, with Paul teaching John aspects of D.J.ing (technical skills, mixing, set construction, working a crowd etc) and John sharing practical knowledge and performance techniques gleaned from his own background as an actor and stage director

After gaining valuable experience playing at various clubs, bars and parties around London, he entered the MUZIC MAGAZINE / SONY / CREAM resident DJ competition and after winning various heats, got down to being one of twelve finalists out of 2,500 original entrants. Although he didn't win, he was honored to receive a special commendation and reference from highly respected music journalist, Ben Turner, recommending his services to every promoter in the world.

Since that time Johns fascination and understanding of the soul enhancing effect of authentic dance music has greatly expanded. Performance skills and the ability to read and raise a crowd have been nurtured through residencies in both LONDON and NEW YORK, along with regular visits to IBIZA and guest appearances across the world.

Playing what he calls, TRANSCENDENTAL HOUSE MUSIC; a vibey and unique mixture of chunky house, future funk, rolling break-beats, soulful melodic techno, cosmic disco and lush dreamy film scores, John's sets weave together the finest global underground dance music from past, present and future, guaranteed to set the party alight and take the dance floor to 'that place beyond the music'...

In addition to having held down a number of residencies in LONDON, he has also been a guest at MR C's 'SUPERFREQ' night, both at THE END and at UNDERGROUND in IBIZA, playing along side such notable D.J.'s as M.A.N.D.Y., TIEFSCHWARZ, RITCHIE HAWTIN and LAYO. He is also a regular guest at the hugely popular SHAMELESS SUNDAY and CAMOUFLAGE club nights in NEW YORK CITY and regularly plays to large crowds of people from every corner of the world at the famous FULL MOON beach parties in THAILAND. His work as a DJ has also taken him to FRANCE, ROMANIA, SOUTH AFRICA, BRAZIL, and SPAIN.

John is also the creator of THE SPIRITUAL PSYCHOLOGY OF ACTING, presenting regular workshops in London, New York and L.A. He is head of MIRACLE TREE PRODUCTIONS, a feature film development and production company. Later this year he is directing and starring in the feature film version of BEYOND ECSTASY.
